I'm baffled by his death. It's like saying that Mt Everest died. It's just a nonsensical thing to say. People die. Lord Proctor is different.

He wasn't the nicest teacher, by any means. He was positively mean in a lot of ways. He was a pompous ass. But he knew Shakespeare like the back of his hand, and taught the senior class how to use more than one fork during the senior dinner.

He's one of the few teachers I can recall from high school. He stood out. He annoyed you and made you think. And that's what a teacher is supposed to do.
